Nicey's Top 10 Favorite BEAST songs

I'm trying to list my top 10 favorite BEAST songs which was pretty hard. Wait, I think "pretty hard" is an understatement because I only have less than 5 BEAST songs that I don't really like and the others I listen to depending on my mood.

I'm no music expert so you wouldn't get any technical descriptions from me on why I like a certain song (lol). Most of these are emotionally-driven. Before I start, I just want you to know beforehand that I only have one solid #1 favorite song and the rest on the list aren't particularly in order.

10) Close My Eyes & Stay
  •  These 2 songs are the most recent songs in this list from their 7th mini album 'TIME'. I can't choose one or the other precisely because I always find myself listening to Stay right after I listen to Close My Eyes. It's like getting an emotional (and sexy sounding) track where I feel someone's longing for their lover in the song and then an upbeat Stay right after it in the album which musically portrays the emotions of a person who has gathered their strength to tell that lover who left to stay with him/her. I think that was perfect. ^-^
9) I Like You the Best
  • I basically love this song because each time I listen to it, I find myself imagining Junhyung doing that simple sexy dance move and he's so hot doing that! I have no shame in admitting it! Well, I'm a Jester for a reason (I love the whole of Beast tho). I fell for him in this perf:

8) Shock
  • I don't listen to this song as much anymore but every time I do, I always get nostalgic since this song was THE song that made me discover Beast. Without this song, I'd neither be a B2uty nor a kpopper for that matter. It's precisely this reason that 'Shock' deserves a place in this list. >_<
7) Fiction
  • This list will never be complete without Fiction. The song that made Beast a top-tier Kpop group. The melody is so beautiful with the piano in it. The vocals are awesome. I remembered being so proud of Dongwoon when I saw & heard him sing the chorus in this song. He also got to do those falsettos while Junhyung raps and I remembered thinking that he surely won't be doing those live but I was greatly mistaken. It was a pleasant surprise to hear him pull those off in their performances since his long high note in the start of Soom was never sung during the duration it was promoted which is why I didn't expect much. It's given that I love the orchestra version of this song too and maybe a bit better sometimes when I feel melancholic. T^T
6) Good Luck
  • Good Luck reminds me of Beast's earlier songs like Shock & Soom but with a touch of their present maturity. I love Dongwoon's and Doojoon's prechorus so much like it was probably the best part in the song for me. "I wanna hold you tight, make you mine, never leave me alone!" Dongwoon's voice! *swooooon* The dance break was love! Kikwang's 1st verse after Yoseob's intro outcry to his loved one was awesome. I can really feel that fierce emotion from Kikwang that he disliked the fact that his lover always mentioned that someday their relationship will inevitably end and I can somehow relate or at least empathize. It gets switched up to the prechorus where we get Dongwoon singing his desire to hold his lover and to never let go but then we get angsty Doojoon who seems like he got bitten by reality that after everything, it indeed ended and he somehow can't understand why that was.
  • Chorus - I love the way I can feel the sarcasm in the way Hyunseung and Yoseob sung their parts especially Yoseob. I thought it was really unique that we see a different side of Beast, in that we don't get the usual break-up song but a song that actually throws sarcasm to the girl who left them.
  • Good luck baby Good luck to you No matter who you meet you better be as happy as
the amount of pain you’ve left me with.
  • The bridge shared by Dongwoon and Yoseob was painfully amazing. I need to stop writing a whole lot about this song though.
  • I will edit this part since I accidentally publish this post without finishing it and now I'm trying to finish this in a hurry. OTL
5) Dream Girl
  • Why Dream Girl? Simply because it's eargasmic. At least it was for me. This is probably one of my most replayed Beast song. I love the 'oooooh, oooooh, yeah yeah' Those Hyunseung adlibs are to die for and Doojoon's sexy voice to start off the song was just heaven! We shouldn't forget Junhyung's rap-singing in the song too. "Girl, you're so hypnotizing..." >____<
4) Oasis
  • One of the 1st BEAST ballads that I fell in love with. The melody is just so pretty and the lyrics are really good. This song somehow gives me strength to face life.
  • I believe dream for you and me
You are the long waited rain in my draughty day. You soaked my heart and gave me courage
You make me fly and smile again
Coming into my arms and giving happiness silently, just like a rainbow after a shower
3) Will You Be Alright?
  • This is probably the only BEAST song I actually cried while listening to it while reading the lyrics when it first came out because even if it was intended to be a break-up song but since I'm currently in a long distance relationship, most of the song's lyrics can actually be applied to my situation.
  • Will you be alright? Without a person to argue with
Without a person to joke around and laugh with if it’s okay with you
  • The above lyrics are the ones I can relate to the most since I literally can't joke around anymore or laugh as much anymore without my boyfriend near me. *sobs*
  • This was also released like 8 months after my boyfriend went out of the country so yeah it hit me so hard... ._.
2) You
  • The only Beast song that I love after only listening to less than 30 seconds. That Dongwoon intro was just so sweet and it was the moment I fell in love with his voice.
1) Lightless
  • BASICALLY THE MOST REPLAYED BEAST SONG!!!!!!!!!! I remembered when I was still a new B2uty and I still haven't listened to their entire discography. I came across this review on how the reviewer loved the Lights Go On Again album so much and that this was her favorite song in the album. She mentioned about how it was rearranged for Beast's 1st concert so I was interested to know why she loved the song. I searched youtube for fancams of Lightless and Yoseob's unplugged intro was just AMAZING. I remembered loving Doojoon's voice in this song as well. The melody is so pretty. I actually love Beast songs because of their pretty melodies. I don't like listening to loud songs with repetitive choruses so the songs Beast have is just my style. <3
  • I LOVE THE UNPLUGGED VERSION!!!!!!

Honorable mentions: 12:30, I'm Sorry (2013), I Knew It, Soom, Beautiful Night, We Up, Though I Call, On Rainy Days, Virus, and Yet.
